1. Kebabs:

I always keep kebab skewers in my kitchen because they inspire quick and simple dinner ideas. Chop up whatever vegetables you have and add some marinated chicken, shrimp, beef or any other protein, throw them on the grill and your done! The fun part is you can mix and match!

2. Farmer’s Markets:

Finding a farmer’s market is pretty easy, especially living in California it seems as if I stumble upon one at least once a week. I personally enjoy buying from farmers markets for the experience and inspiration but there are also a number of other reasons that should encourage people to seek out a farmer’s market instead of heading to the supermarket. The foods are picked fresh (without chemicals), in season and at the peak of their flavor and nutritional value. This is because they are locally grown so you know you are putting your dollars towards supporting your community farmers. You’ll also be surprised to know that what you find at farmer’s market is usually similar in cost to what you’ll find at a supermarket!

3. Bob’s Red Mill Gluten Free Quick Cooking Oats:

I’ll go all out on breakfast over the weekends but on the weekdays I like (and need) to keep it quick and easy. So since I’m not cooking an elaborate breakfast every morning, I rely on my big bag of Gluten Free Quick Cooking Oats. I get the 32 oz bag which, depending on where you shop, is usually around $8 and with 20 servings, it definitely doesn’t break the bank. And if you’re like me and hate all the added sugar in flavored oatmeal, try adding a little natural, unsweetened applesauce and cinnamon.
