1.Garmin Heart Rate Monitor with a road bike speed and cadence sensor
I was totally psyched to get this gift from my dad this year as we all road bike a bunch and the individual heart rate monitor allows you to track your heart rate so that you are exercising at an intensity that is appropriate for you. There’s a fine line between fat burning and anaerobic and they can be completely different depending on age and gender. Two people can be riding the same hill at what appears to be the same speed but their individual bodies are working at completely different heart rates. The monitor keeps you on track. For more information on heart rate, click here, here and here.
2. Organic Raw Kombucha
This is definitely an acquired taste, but completely incredible. Kombucha is a fermented tea that originated in China over 2,000 years ago and was named “the immortal health elixir.” This tea has made it into the 21st century with many followers, as it is the perfect detoxing drink (which I think most of us need after New Years Eve). For more information on the benefits of Kombucha click here.
3. Soda Stream
I don’t know about you, but sometimes plain old water can get pretty boring. In order to get my 8 glasses of H20/day, I have invested in the Soda Stream, which carbonates water. Just add a sliver of lemon and – bam – you have a much more enjoyable, and eco-friendly, way to get hydrated.
Have a great weekend!!
