Shake Shack – A Welcomed Indulgence

Now I am not one to frequent burger joints, but there are those times when one can’t resist the urge to bite down on a luscious cheeseburger topped with lettuce, tomato and all the best condiments. Last weekend, my boyfriend and I decided it was just about time to make a trip to our favorite spot – Shake Shack on Lincoln Road in South Beach.
One thing I look for in a burger is size. I hate having to use two hands on a patty that is as large as my head. The ShackBurger ® is perfect because it is small enough that I don’t feel like I’m overdoing it and wrecking my diet.
Shake Shack started in 2004 as a “roadside” burger stand in Madison Square Park, New York that specialized in hot dogs, frozen custard, shakes, beer, wine and of course the most delicious burgers. Now you can find the company in five different states and internationally. What we love about it is the beef is free-range and vegetarian fed (read here about the disadvantages of corn-fed beef) with no hormones or antibiotics and the company prides itself on sourcing out premium ingredients, which most of the time are from suppliers close by each shack. You can really taste the difference.
